Websites, search and AI visibility

Website Development and SEO, Melbourne

We build fast business websites and do the search work that makes them findable, increasingly by AI assistants rather than only by Google. The difference in how we work is that we read your entire site rather than a sample of it, so an audit that normally takes an agency a fortnight takes us a day, and it is complete rather than representative.

Two halves that are usually sold separately and only work together. A site that loads instantly is worth nothing if nobody can find it, and ranking well sends people to a page that has to earn the enquiry. Most of what follows is not opinion: it is what happened when we replaced our own WordPress site, and we can show you the working.

Included

What you get

A whole-site audit, not a sample

Conventional audits check twenty or thirty pages and extrapolate, because a person reading every page of a large site is a fortnight of work nobody is paying for. We read all of it: every title, heading, description, internal link, redirect and piece of structured data, then compare it against what should be there. What comes back is a list of specific pages with specific problems, not a grade out of a hundred.

A site with no moving parts

Static pages served straight off disk. No database, no plugin updates, no monthly licence, nothing to be exploited at 2am. Ours went from 341 KB and roughly two seconds to 104 KB and about one, on the same server under the same test.

Keyword and question research

We pull the real search volume, difficulty and advertiser cost for your market rather than guessing. That includes checking who else owns a term: one product name we researched turned out to be shared with a backhoe loader, another with several unrelated Australian businesses, one of them in our own suburb.

Content that only you could publish

The test for every page is whether anyone else could have written it. Generic explainers are the exact thing Google now declines to index, so we write from your work: your incidents, your measurements, your decisions.

The technical layer

Redirects for the URLs you already have, a considered decision about which dead pages should say gone rather than missing, canonical and trailing-slash consistency, structured data, sitemaps, and submission to the indexing services that accept it.

AI visibility

A machine-readable map of the site for language models, structured answers they can quote, and a consistent description of what your business actually is. In the week after our own launch, AI crawlers requested our pages 893 times against 465 visits from every search engine combined.

Measurement that answers a business question

Self-hosted analytics with no third-party trackers, instrumented for enquiries and phone taps rather than pageviews alone, so the question becomes which page produces work instead of how much traffic arrived.

Managed intelligence

How the platform changes this

This is the same capability we use in IT operations, pointed at a website instead of a server. Nobody stays as accurate reading page 300 as page 3, which is why traditional audits sample and why they miss things: it is an attention problem, not a competence one, and it is the one thing machines are unambiguously better at than we are. The platform reads the whole site, the search data, the server logs and the crawler behaviour, finds what is missing or inconsistent, and drafts. A person then decides which findings actually matter to your business and what is worth doing about them, because a list of 400 technical faults ranked by nothing is not advice. Our own analytics broke silently during this rebuild while every dashboard reported healthy, which is exactly why nothing here publishes itself.

How managed intelligence works

Who it is for

  • Businesses whose site was built years ago and has quietly stopped producing enquiries
  • Anyone paying monthly for content that is being crawled and not indexed
  • Owners who want to be the answer an AI assistant gives, not only a result on page four

Straight answers

What is in the audit, and what does it cost?

Nothing, and you get the findings in writing whether or not you go any further. We read every page of your site rather than a sample, and report what is missing or broken: pages search engines cannot index, titles and descriptions that are duplicated or absent, broken redirects and links, structured data that is wrong or not there, pages nobody can reach from anywhere else, and how your site reads to an AI assistant trying to describe your business. You get a list of specific pages and specific problems, in the order we would fix them. If the answer is that your site is fine and the problem is somewhere else, we will say that instead.

What does a website and SEO project cost?

The build is quoted as a fixed price once we know how many pages you need and what has to move across. Search work is a monthly fee, because it is ongoing by nature. We quote after looking at what you have rather than publishing a number, and we will tell you plainly if your site is fine and the problem is somewhere else. The review is free and you get the findings in writing either way.

Do you use AI to write the content?

To draft, yes. To decide what is true, no. The substance has to be first-hand, and a person checks every claim before it goes live. We also work from a written voice specification and a list of the patterns that give machine writing away, which gets updated as models change. AI-assisted writing is not the problem; content with nothing in it that came from you is the problem, and that is what search engines are now filtering out.

What is GEO, and is it different from SEO?

GEO is generative engine optimisation: being found and quoted by AI assistants rather than ranked in a list of links. The work overlaps heavily with good SEO, because both reward a clear, well-structured, factually consistent site. The differences are that AI systems build a picture of what your business is from everything they can read, they cite passages rather than sites, and several of them look for a machine-readable summary that most sites do not publish. It is not a replacement for search work and anyone selling it as one is guessing.

Do we have to leave WordPress?

No, and sometimes you should not. WordPress earns its keep when non-technical staff genuinely publish often. If your site is five pages that change twice a year, you are paying in updates, plugin licences and attack surface for a capability you do not use. We moved our own site off it and said so publicly, with the numbers. Yours is a recommendation with reasons attached, not a condition of working together.

How long before it works?

Technical fixes show up in weeks. Content and authority take months, and anyone promising otherwise is selling something. What we can tell you early is whether the site is being crawled, what is being indexed and what is not, and which pages produce enquiries, because that is measured rather than predicted. We set a baseline before touching anything so the change is provable in either direction.
